I learned, almost a little to late, that it takes time to be successful. Sometimes it feels I need more time than I have. With my new revelation I've begun managing my time better and believe me, it's a conscious effort. It's worth it.Time management is a skill that's needed to be successful.
I used to blame my lack of productivity on "not having enough time." But I've figured out it's the things I do with my time. Like, when I'm watching T.V.? Which I do a lot. How about dreaming of the future? Instead of trying to build it. Wasting time used to be a hobby of mine.
I've tried to keep a schedule for managing my time but that hasn't worked for me. So I've taken a different approach. There's no reason to play into my weaknesses, right? I instead, have began to take the time I have and use it productively. For example, I'm at the laundromat writing this but I started it at work on my down time. I also posted a poem on Twitter during my lunch break and one while waiting for the coffee to brew. The coffee is to get me through the laundry mat.
I have seen a difference in not only my progress but also in my self-confidence. Improving myself brings a sense of ability. The ability to move forward. Everyday is a new day to succeed at something.
I'm not sure what success will be like and I know it's gonna be a long hard road getting there. And that's OK because, if it's hard then it's probably worth it.
